By accessing or using Alerts Plus ("the Service"), operated at alertsplus.io, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Alerts Plus is a media monitoring tool that enriches Google Alerts with additional metadata, delivers notifications across multiple channels (email, SMS, Slack, in-app), and provides media list management for PR professionals.

3. Account Registration

You must sign in with a valid Google account to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activities that occur under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service or its systems
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service
  • Use the Service to send unsolicited messages or spam
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
  • Resell, sublicense, or redistribute the Service without written permission

5. SMS Notifications

If you opt in to receive SMS notifications:

  • You consent to receive automated text messages from Alerts Plus at the phone number you provide
  • Message frequency varies based on your alert volume and tier configuration (typically 0-10 messages per day)
  • Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier plan
  • You may opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message or by removing your number in Settings
  • Reply HELP for assistance
  • Compatible with all major US carriers

6. Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Alerts Plus and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. News content processed through the Service remains the property of its original publishers.

7. User Content

You retain ownership of any data you provide to the Service, including alert configurations, media lists, and routing settings. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to process this data solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.

8. Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with third-party platforms including Google, SendGrid, Twilio, and Slack. Your use of these integrations is subject to the respective third party's terms of service. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or practices of third-party services.

9. Service Availability

We strive to maintain reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time with reasonable notice when possible.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Alerts Plus shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or business opportunities, arising from your use of the Service.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be error-free, secure, or available at all times.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Alerts Plus from any claims, losses, or damages (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at our discretion if you violate these Terms. You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.

14. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.

15. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated terms on this page with a revised effective date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
